VFS Global handles Schengen "D-type" visa applications for the purpose of family reunification for Hungary in Baghdad and in Erbil.
Long-term resident visa (“D-type”) applications for purposes other than family reunification continue to be handled exclusively by the Consulate General of Hungary in Erbil.
We would like to inform our applicants that the primary method for scheduling appointments is via the online booking system.
We can only arrange appointments via email for students who have been awarded the Stipendium Hungaricum or other scholarships.
To schedule an appointment, scholarship recipients are requested to send their Letter of Award via email to consulate.erbil@mfa.gov.hu

Following the approval of the residence permit application, the applicant receives a visa entitling them to collect the residence permit, which authorizes a single entry and a thirty-day stay. During this period, the applicant must collect the card-format permit from the competent immigration authority.
