On 23 October 2025 in Erbil, the Coalition Forces Iraqi Contingent commemorated the heroes of the Hungarian 1956 revolution and freedom fight with a ceremonial flag raising. Members of the Consulate General of Hungary in Erbil also participated in the event.
Following the ceremony, the Commander of the Special Operations Command"s letter of thanks was read out and awards were presented to the contingent's personal security group.
